Property Acquisition
QICSS was founded in 1990 by a group of Quadra Island residents to purchase and protect the only private piece of property on Morte Lake. A conservation covenant co-held by QICSS and the Nature Conservancy of Canada protects this property from development but allows public trail access to the lake. We are interested in acquiring and protecting additional properties in the Discovery Islands that have significant ecological value. QICSS welcomes donations of money, land, and gifts-in-will. Your support will help us protect more land in the Discovery Islands and develop programs to engage the community in hands-on stewardship. We are a registered charity and donors will receive an income tax receipt.
